Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of trustneracademy.com and all related services, including any mobile interfaces, AI tutors, downloadable content, communications, and learner accounts (collectively, "the Academy").

By accessing or using the Academy, you agree to be bound by these Terms, by our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Academy.

2. Who provides the Academy

The Academy is operated by Trustner Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. ("TIB") on behalf of the Trustner Group, with registered office at Sethi Trust, Guwahati, Assam, India. Trustner Academy is an initiative of the Trustner Group; a separate corporate entity (Trustner Academy Pvt. Ltd.) is under incorporation. Once incorporated, these Terms will be updated to reflect the new operating entity.

3. Eligibility

You may use the Academy if:

  • you are at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under Indian law; or
  • you are under 18 and use the Academy under the registered account of a parent or lawful guardian who has provided verifiable consent on your behalf.

The Academy is intended primarily for residents of India. If you access it from outside India, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.

4. Your account

To access certain features (course progress, certificates, AI tutor history), you must create a learner account. You agree to:

  • provide accurate and current information at sign-up
  • keep your password confidential and not share your account
  • notify us promptly at wecare@trustner.in of any unauthorised use of your account
  • be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or are used for fraudulent or abusive purposes.

5. Phase-1 services are free

In its current launch phase, the Academy is provided free of charge. We may introduce paid tiers in future phases. If and when we do, those tiers will be governed by separate, clearly-disclosed pricing and refund terms, which you will need to expressly accept before being charged.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Academy, you agree not to:

  • access or use the Academy for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Academy's infrastructure
  • interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Academy
  • introduce any virus, worm, malware, or other harmful code
  • use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract content, except for well-behaved search-engine indexing
  • copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, or create derivative works of Academy content except as expressly permitted in these Terms (see §7)
  • resell, sub-license, or commercially exploit Academy content
  • post, upload, or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, infringing, or otherwise objectionable
  • use the AI tutor or any other feature to generate content that violates law or these Terms
  • use the Academy to solicit, distribute, or sell investment products, insurance products, or financial services
  • attempt to extract personal data of other learners

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Our content

All content on the Academy — including lessons, articles, videos, audio, quizzes, mock tests, downloadable PDFs, branding, logos, source code, design, and AI-tutor outputs to the extent attributable to our underlying prompts and curriculum — is owned by TIB, the Trustner Group, or our licensors, and is protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

7.2 Your licence to use the content

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use Academy content for your own private learning. This licence does not allow you to:

  • redistribute Academy content (publicly or privately)
  • post Academy content on social media, YouTube, or other platforms
  • use Academy content to train another AI model
  • incorporate Academy content into a course, book, or product (commercial or otherwise)
  • remove copyright or trademark notices

If you wish to reuse Academy content beyond personal learning — for example, as a coaching institute or non-profit — please contact wecare@trustner.in for licensing.

7.3 Content you submit

If you submit content to the Academy (forum posts, support messages, feedback, AI-tutor queries), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, store, display, and process that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Academy. You confirm that you own or have the right to submit such content.

7.4 Trademarks

"Trustner Academy", "Trustner", and the Trustner logo are trademarks of the Trustner Group. You may not use them without our prior written permission. Third-party trademarks (CFA, CFP, NISM, AMFI, NSE, BSE, etc.) are the property of their respective owners; see our Disclaimer §4.

8. AI tutor — additional terms

The Academy's AI tutor is a generative-AI feature that provides explanatory responses to learner queries. By using it, you understand and accept that:

  • AI responses are produced by an automated system and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect
  • AI responses are not professional advice of any kind
  • the AI tutor will refuse to provide personal investment, legal, or tax recommendations
  • you must independently verify any factual claim before relying on it
  • your AI-tutor conversations are stored as described in our Privacy Policy §8

We may rate-limit or restrict AI-tutor usage to prevent abuse or manage cost.

9. No advice, no fiduciary relationship

Your use of the Academy creates no advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and TIB, the Trustner Group, the Academy, or any of their officers, employees, or contributors. See our Disclaimer for the full scope of this point.

10. Third-party links and services

The Academy may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. Following such links is at your own risk.

11. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Academy available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Academy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement — to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We may, from time to time and without notice:

  • modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Academy
  • change content, syllabus coverage, or features
  • impose limits on certain features or restrict access

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TIB, the Trustner Group, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, content contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of opportunity, business interruption, or reputational harm — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Academy, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Academy in Phase-1 (free service) is limited to ₹100 (one hundred Indian Rupees).

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TIB, the Trustner Group, and their officers, employees, contractors, and content contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

  • your breach of these Terms
  • your misuse of the Academy
  • your violation of any law or third-party right
  • any decision (financial, legal, tax, career, or otherwise) you make based on Academy content

14. Termination

You may stop using the Academy at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing grievance@trustner.in.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Academy, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of others, or if continued provision of the service to you would expose us to legal or operational risk.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law) will continue to apply.

15. Modifications to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. We will make reasonable effort to notify learners of material changes (in-app banner, email, or both). Continued use of the Academy after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Guwahati, Assam, India.

These Terms are published in English. In case of conflict between this version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.
